The Clutch Masters FX400 8-Puck Ceramic Clutch Kit is the top of the Clutch Masters single-disc lineup for the 2004–2021 Subaru STI. Designed for high-torque street builds, track cars, and drag racing applications, this kit delivers 170% increased holding capacity over the factory STI clutch while maintaining a more street-manageable engagement character than the 6-puck version.

The FX400 uses the Power Plus I Heavy Duty pressure plate paired with an 8-puck full face lined ceramic disc. The 8-puck configuration uses a marcel cushion between the disc linings which significantly reduces chatter compared to the 6-puck paddle design, making it the more practical choice for STI owners who still drive the car regularly on the street. The sprung hub provides moderate dampening under high-torque conditions, adding to its daily drivability compared to solid or rigid disc alternatives.

This kit is SFI approved for most race applications and is designed for STI builds with significant power upgrades, forced induction modifications, or track and drag racing use where the factory clutch can no longer reliably hold power.

Important Note: This is a pull type clutch designed specifically for the STI platform. It is not compatible with the WRX. Flywheel is not included. Ceramic discs are designed to increase holding capacity and durability, not to extend clutch lifespan. Not recommended for stock or near-stock vehicles.
