This is an accessory, required for anyone installing aftermarket coilovers or shocks that replace the Civic Type R’s factory electronically controlled Active Damper System (ADS). It does not add performance on its own.
The Civic Type R comes equipped with an electronically controlled adaptive damper system, and the factory ECU expects to see that system in place at all times. Install any aftermarket coilover or shock that doesn’t include the factory adaptive damper actuators, and the dashboard throws a persistent warning light, an annoying distraction that has nothing to do with an actual problem with the car. This TEIN Error Canceller Kit solves that cleanly: it’s a plug-and-play set of four modules that connect directly into the existing OEM ADS harness at each corner, telling the ECU everything is normal so the warning never appears.
No cutting, splicing, or permanent modification required, each module simply plugs into the factory connector.
