Specifications
Part Details:
The factory clutch slave cylinder on these Subaru platforms includes a clutch delay valve, a restriction designed to soften clutch engagement for smoother factory shifts. Under aggressive driving or fast shifting, that same restriction causes inconsistent engagement and unwanted clutch slip, contributing to premature wear. This Perrin Clutch Delay Valve Delete replaces the OEM valve with a clean, flat surface, eliminating the delay for a more direct and predictable clutch pedal feel.
Unlike older DIY methods that gut the factory valve and leave behind a cavity that can block the bleeder ports, Perrin’s precision-machined design keeps the bleeder ports fully accessible, making the bleeding process straightforward.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the clutch delay valve actually do?
The factory valve restricts hydraulic flow in the clutch slave cylinder to soften engagement. Under aggressive driving, that restriction causes inconsistent engagement and clutch slip instead.
Will this make my clutch grabbier?
It makes engagement more direct and predictable rather than delayed. Most owners describe the change as a firmer, more immediate pedal feel rather than an abrupt one.
Do I need to bleed the clutch after installing this?
Yes, the clutch hydraulic system needs to be bled after installation since the line is opened during the swap.
