Specifications
Part Details:
2026 WRX note: this kit is not yet approved for sale in California for the 2026 model year specifically, while COBB works toward expanding CARB EO coverage. All other covered model years carry an issued CARB Executive Order.
As demand on the high pressure fuel pump increases, whether from a tune, bolt-ons, or simply pushing the engine harder, the low pressure side of the fuel system can start to fall behind, leading to cavitation at the HPFP. This COBB In-Tank Fuel Pressure Regulator is a simple modification that raises low-side fuel pressure to 4.5 bar, giving the HPFP a stronger, more consistent supply and helping prevent that cavitation before it becomes a fueling problem.
This regulator kit also fits several other Subaru and Toyota platforms sharing the same fuel system architecture, including Outback XT, Outback Wilderness, Ascent, Legacy, BRZ, and GR86.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need this if I’m not modified yet?
This is primarily a supporting upgrade for builds pushing higher fuel demand. If your WRX is stock, it may not be necessary yet, but it’s a smart addition before adding power.
Is this legal in California?
Most covered model years have an issued CARB Executive Order and are legal for sale and use in all 50 states. The 2026 WRX specifically is not yet approved for California sale while COBB works toward expanding that coverage.
Do I need a tune to install this?
COBB does not list this as requiring a tune, though consulting a qualified tuner is always good practice anytime the fuel system is modified.
